A proud Remy Fund grant recipient
Since 2021, the Remy Fund for Pets and Animal Services has helped power our mission, year after year, to keep pets and the people who love them together.
Years of partnership
The Remy Fund for Pets and Animal Services is a special fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, established in 2010 by Birmingham philanthropist Ken Jackson in memory of his late dog, Remy. Since 2011, the fund has awarded over $829,000 to companion animal nonprofits serving Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount, and Walker counties — with 2026 marking the largest grant total in the fund's 16-year history.
Each year, the Remy Fund's grant committee reviews applications from local organizations working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and horses, and the people who love them. Sugarbelle Foundation is honored to be counted among these organizations year after year, and every grant goes directly toward vetting, food, spay/neuter, and emergency care for the pets and families we serve.
